Canada Greener Homes Loan: new intake is closed

NRCan's published process states October 1, 2025 was the last day to apply for the Canada Greener Homes Loan. A new heat pump budget in October 2026 should not assume access to a new $40,000 interest-free federal loan.

If you already have an approved loan

Use the documents and account for your existing application to check disbursement, completion and repayment conditions. An existing borrower's position differs from someone asking for a new loan; a contractor's generic advertisement cannot settle that distinction.

If you are financing a new purchase

Compare the total repayment amount, interest, fees, security and early repayment rules of any alternative financing. Keep rebate approval separate from credit approval, and make sure the purchase remains affordable if a rebate is delayed or declined.
